Before graduate school, most of my treatment experience was on 20th-century paintings. Many of these were soot-damaged and I was able to practice developing cleaning systems using the Modular Cleaning Program. In graduate school, I wanted to the opportunity to work with older paintings and learn about structural treatments. As a result, my major projects present severe structural issues, necessitating tear mending, consolidation, humidification, flattening, lining, and re-stretching.

For my science project, I will be analyzing Edward Hopper’s paint box and palette this semester.
